Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC), 10-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Warhorses now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they host Mitchell for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Monday, April 4. Owen will battle a Mountaineers squad coming off a 10-0 league loss to Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC). The Mountaineers record now stands at 1-8.

With the loss, Thomas Jefferson falls to 0-8 on the campaign. The Gryphons host Shelby (Shelby, NC) to battle the Golden Lions in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A challenge on Friday, April 1. The Golden Lions enter the challenge with a record of 1-9. Shelby lost 20-5 in their recent non-league challenge against Chase (Forest City, NC)
