In Thursday's non-league game, the host South Elgin Storm baseball team scored a tight 3-0 victory over the DeKalb Barbs.
The Storm (1-1) will now prepare for their game against West Chicago (West Chicago, IL). The Wildcats go into the Upstate Eight game with a 2-1 record.
The Barbs (2-1) will now prepare for their game against Boylan Catholic (Rockford, IL). The Titans go into the non-league game with a 3-4 record. In their last game, Boylan Catholic by Moline (Moline, IL), 11-0, in a non-league game.
