Carter Green Hornets (Strawberry Plains, TN) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting Grainger Grizzlies (Rutledge, TN), 13-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Green Hornets now own a 6-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Fulton for a non-league challenge on Monday, April 3. Carter will face a Falcons squad coming off a 8-7 non-league win over Atherton (Louisville, KY). The Falcons record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Grainger falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Grizzlies travel to Greeneville (Greeneville, TN) to face the Greene Devils in a 3A District 2 challenge on Thursday, April 6. The Greene Devils enter the challenge with a record of 3-6. Greeneville won 9-3 in their recent league challenge against Cherokee (Rogersville, TN)
