The crowd at Thursday's non-league match between the St. James Sharks (Murrells Inlet, SC) and the host Central Valley Warriors (Monaca, PA), saw St. James's softball squad nip Central Valley by a count of 5-4.

The Sharks now sport a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Conway for a AAAAA Region 5 match on Monday, April 10. St. James will face a Tigers squad coming off a 9-8 league loss to Carolina Forest (Myrtle Beach, SC). The Tigers record now stands at 11-3.

With the loss, Central Valley falls to 2-2 on the campaign. The Warriors host North (Eastlake, OH) to face the Rangers in a non-league match on Friday, March 31. The Rangers enter the match with a record of 2-0. North won 5-3 in their recent non-league match against Medina (Medina, OH)
