Marion Patriots (Marion, AR) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels (Millington, TN), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 7-4 record. They take the field next when they host Nettleton for a 5A East challenge on Tuesday, April 4. Marion will face a Raiders squad coming off a 6-0 non-league win over Melbourne (Melbourne, AR). The Raiders record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, Tipton-Rosemark Academy falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Rebels host Oakland (Murfreesboro, TN) to face the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 31. The Patriots enter the challenge with a record of 7-2. Oakland won 8-1 in their recent non-league challenge against White House (White House, TN)
