McMichael Phoenix (Mayodan, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Southern Alamance Patriots (Graham, NC), 8-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Phoenix now own a 13-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to West Stokes for a Mid-State 2A challenge on Monday, April 3. McMichael will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 10-0 non-league loss to West Forsyth (Clemmons, NC). The Wildcats record now stands at 6-5.

With the loss, Southern Alamance falls to 8-3 on the campaign. The Patriots host Hillside (Durham, NC) to battle the Hornets in a DAC-VII 4A challenge on Monday, April 3. The Hornets enter the challenge with a record of 0-6. Hillside lost 24-9 in their recent league challenge against East Chapel Hill (Chapel Hill, NC)
