North Carolina High School Softball - North Stanly nudges Uwharrie Charter

North Stanly Comets (New London, NC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Uwharrie Charter Eagles (Asheboro, NC), 10-9 in a non-league challenge.
The Comets now own a 8-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Albemarle for a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A challenge on Friday, March 31. North Stanly will battle a Bulldogs squad coming off a 16-0 league loss to South Stanly (Norwood, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 0-4.
With the loss, Uwharrie Charter falls to 6-5 on the campaign. The Eagles host Union Academy (Monroe, NC) to battle the Cardinals in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Cardinals enter the challenge with a record of 11-2. Union Academy lost 4-2 in their recent league challenge against South Stanly (Norwood, NC)
