LeRoy Panthers (LeRoy, IL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Salt Fork Storm (Sidell, IL), 8-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 9-0 record. They take the field next when they host Tremont for a Heart of Illinois challenge on Monday, April 1. LeRoy will face a Turks squad coming off a 13-0 non-league win over Pleasant Plains (Pleasant Plains, IL). The Turks record now stands at 5-4.

With the loss, Salt Fork falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Storm travel to Armstrong (Armstrong, IL) to face the Trojans in a Vermilion Valley challenge on Monday, April 1. The Trojans enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Armstrong lost 12-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Westville (Westville, IL)
