The Maloney Spartans softball team scored 18 runs and limited the visiting New Britain Golden Hurricanes to 0 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Maloney moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Spartans host Bristol Eastern (Bristol, CT) to clash with the Lancers in a Central Connecticut - South game on Monday, April 1. The Lancers come into the game with a record of 0-0.

In their next game, the Golden Hurricanes clash with the Plainville Blue Devils (Plainville, CT) in a non-league game, on Friday, April 5. New Britain will attempt to move on its 0-1 season record.
