The crowd at Saturday's non-league match between the Marion Wildcats (Marion, IL) and the visiting Salem Wildcats (Salem, IL), saw Marion's softball squad nip Salem by a count of 3-1.

The Wildcats now sport a 11-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Trico for a non-league match on Monday, April 1. Marion will face a Pioneers squad coming off a 7-6 non-league win over Chester (Chester, IL). The Pioneers record now stands at 4-1.

With the loss, Salem falls to 7-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Freeburg (Freeburg, IL) to face the Midgets in a Cahokia - Mississippi match on Tuesday, April 2. The Midgets enter the test with a record of 10-1. Freeburg won 8-1 in their recent non-league test against Mascoutah (Mascoutah, IL)
