Northern Patriots (Owings, MD) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Northeast Eagles (Pasadena, MD), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Patriots now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Leonardtown for a Southern Maryland challenge on Wednesday, April 3. Northern will battle a Raiders squad coming off a 7-0 non-league win over Damascus (Damascus, MD). The Raiders record now stands at 2-3.

With the loss, Northeast falls to 2-1 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Chopticon (Morganza, MD) to battle the Braves in a non-league challenge on Monday, April 1. The Braves enter the challenge with a record of 1-0. Chopticon won 13-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Leonardtown (Leonardtown, MD)
