New York High School Baseball - Port Chester holds off LaSalle Academy

Port Chester Rams (Port Chester, NY) fans exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host LaSalle Academy Cardinals (New York, NY), 7-3 in a non-league test.

Game Summary
The La Salle Cardinals were an inning and a third away from being on the wrong side of a perfect game before finally getting on the board, but it was not enough as they dropped their fourth straight game, 3-7 to Port Chester High School on Randall’s Island. Thus ends the preseason for the Cardinals in which the pitching was stellar, but the offense has struggled to get hits and score runs.
A trio of La Salle pitchers combined to scatter five hits as the Port Chester (Section 1, NYSPSAA) offense small balled its way to four run lead on only two hits but three double steals. The Rams lone big hit came in the top of the seventh, a two-run single, that expanded their lead to three runs.
