Chardon Hilltoppers (Chardon, OH) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Burrell Bucs (Lower Burrell, PA), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hilltoppers now own a 6-2 record. They take the field next when they host Madison for a Western Reserve challenge on Thursday, April 6.

With the loss, Burrell falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Bucs travel to Shady Side Academy (Pittsburgh, PA) to battle the Bulldogs in a WPIAL 3A 1 challenge on Tuesday, April 4. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
