The crowd at Monday's non-league battle between the PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central Bluejays (Petersburg, IL) and the visiting Jacksonville Crimsons (Jacksonville, IL), saw PORTA/Ashland-Chandlerville Central's baseball team gain a win over Jacksonville by a tally of 9-4.
The Bluejays (6-2) will now prepare for their battle against Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL). The Spartans enter the non-league battle with a 2-5 record. In their last battle, Springfield Southeast was overwhelmed by Lincoln (Lincoln, IL), 5-3, in a league battle.
Next, the Crimsons face the Rochester Rockets (Rochester, IL) in a Central State Eight battle, on Tuesday, April 1. Jacksonville will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Rockets enter the battle with a 5-2 record after their 11-1 non-league win over Springfield Southeast (Springfield, IL).
