In Monday's non-league match, the visiting Bigelow Panthers softball team scored a tight 5-2 win over the Booneville Bearcats.

The Panthers (9-7) will now prepare for their match against Mt. Vernon-Enola (Mt. Vernon, AR). The Warhawks come into the 2A Region 5 match with a 6-8 record. In their last match, Mt. Vernon-Enola was routed by West Side (Greers Ferry, AR), 9-8, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Bearcats confront the Greenland Pirates (Greenland, AR) in a non-league match, on Tuesday, April 1. Booneville will attempt to better on its 8-3 season record. The Pirates come into the match with a 8-3 record after their 15-5 non-league win over Highland (Hardy, AR).
