In Monday's non-league match, the host Camden Catholic Fighting Irish softball team scored a tight 10-7 victory over the Cherry Hill East Cougars.
The Fighting Irish (2-0) will now prepare for their match against Holy Spirit (Absecon, NJ). The Spartans go into the non-league match with a 3-1 record. In their last match, Holy Spirit tipped Buena (Buena, NJ), 13-0, in a league match.
In their next game, the Cougars battle the Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors (Sicklerville, NJ) in a Olympic - American match, on Wednesday, April 2.
