In Monday's non-league match, the host Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains softball team scored a tight 9-3 win over the St. Paul Flyers.

The Chieftains (3-0) will now prepare for their match against Gibsonburg (Gibsonburg, OH). The Golden Bears come into the Sandusky Bay - River match with a 1-3 record. In their last match, Gibsonburg nipped Calvert (Tiffin, OH), 4-3, in a league match.
