The crowd at Monday's non-league bout between the Shiprock Chieftains (Shiprock, NM) and the visiting Tohatchi Cougars (Tohatchi, NM), observed Shiprock's softball team edge Tohatchi by a margin of 13-12.

The Chieftains now sport a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Kirtland Central for a 4A District 1 outing on Tuesday, April 1. Shiprock will encounter a Broncos team coming off a 18-8 non-league loss to Aztec (Aztec, NM). The Broncos record now stands at 7-9.

With the loss, Tohatchi moves to 2-4 on the season. The Cougars travel to Mesilla Valley Christian School (Las Cruces, NM) to encounter the SonBlazers in a non-league outing on Thursday, April 3. The SonBlazers come into the outing with a record of 4-1. Mesilla Valley Christian School won 15-5 in their recent non-league outing against Jal (Jal, NM)
