The Laney Buccaneers the visiting New Bern Bears baseball team by a count of 7-2 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Buccaneers now possess a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Purnell Swett for a non-league bout on Saturday, March 5. Laney will face a Rams team coming off a 7-1 non-league win over Overhills (Spring Lake, NC). The Rams record now stands at 1-1.
