In Friday's non-league game, the host North Stanly Comets baseball team scored a tight 9-4 victory over the Parkwood Wolf Pack.

The Comets (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Robinson (Concord, NC). The Bulldogs go into the Yadkin Valley 1A/2A game with a 0-3 record. In their last game, Robinson was overwhelmed by Hickory Ridge (Harrisburg, NC), 7-0, in a non-league game.
