Alexandria Valley Cubs (Alexandria, AL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host White Plains Wildcats (Anniston, AL), 8-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Valley Cubs now own a 4-2 record. They take the field next when they host Etowah for a non-league challenge on Monday, March 7. Alexandria will battle a Blue Devils squad coming off a 16-0 non-league loss to Plainview (Rainsville, AL). The Blue Devils record now stands at 1-1.

With the loss, White Plains falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Madison County (Gurley, AL) to battle the Tigers in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. The Tigers enter the challenge with a record of 5-0. Madison County won 7-4 in their recent non-league challenge against Arab (Arab, AL)
