St. Michael Cardinals (St. Michaels, AZ) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Ash Fork Spartans (Ash Fork, AZ), 22-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Cardinals now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Chinle for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. St. Michael will battle a Wildcats squad coming off a 18-0 non-league loss to Winslow (Winslow, AZ). The Wildcats record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Ash Fork falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Red Mesa (Teec Nos Pos, AZ) to battle the Redskins in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 8. The Redskins enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Red Mesa lost 16-5 in their recent league challenge against Mayer (Mayer, AZ)
