Crystal River Pirates (Crystal River, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting Leesburg Yellow Jackets (Leesburg, FL), 10-0 in a league challenge.

The Pirates now own a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Citrus for a 4A District 6 challenge on Tuesday, March 8. Crystal River will face a Hurricanes squad coming off a 3-2 non-league win over The Villages Charter (The Villages, FL). The Hurricanes record now stands at 4-2.

With the loss, Leesburg falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets host Ocoee (Ocoee, FL) to face the Knights in a non-league challenge on Monday, March 7. The Knights enter the challenge with a record of 2-2. Ocoee won 8-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Boone (Orlando, FL)
