Elgin Wildcats (Elgin, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting LBJ Austin Jaguars (Austin, TX), 16-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 5-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Harker Heights for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. Elgin will face a Knights squad coming off a 17-2 non-league win over LBJ Austin (Austin, TX). The Knights record now stands at 13-4.

With the loss, LBJ Austin falls to 2-4 on the campaign. The Jaguars travel to Salado (Salado, TX) to face the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 6-2. Salado won 16-2 in their recent non-league challenge against Bastrop (Bastrop, TX)
