Jay Royals (Jay, FL) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Holmes County Blue Devils (Bonifay, FL), 8-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Royals now own a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Florida State University High School for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. Jay will battle a Seminoles squad coming off a 19-11 non-league win over Fort Walton Beach (Fort Walton Beach, FL). The Seminoles record now stands at 4-0.

With the loss, Holmes County falls to 2-3 on the campaign. The Blue devils host Geneva (Geneva, AL) to battle the Panthers in a non-league challenge on Friday, March 4. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Geneva lost 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Brantley (Brantley, AL)
