The St. John's Mavericks baseball team scored 17 runs and limited the host Lamar Consolidated Mustangs to 3 in the Mavericks non-league victory on Saturday.
The Mavericks (2-4) will now prepare for their match against El Campo (El Campo, TX). The Ricebirds go into the non-league challenge with a 7-1 record. In their last challenge, El Campo notched a victory over Fort Bend Bush (Richmond, TX), 17-7, in a non-league challenge.
With the defeat, Lamar Consolidated falls to 1-8 on the season. The Mustangs host Sweeny (Sweeny, TX) to battle the Bulldogs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. Sweeny won 8-4 in their recent non-league challenge against St. John's (Houston, TX)
