The Loyd Star Hornets baseball team scored 10 runs and limited the host Natchez Bulldogs to 1 in the Hornets non-league victory on Saturday.
The Hornets (6-1) will now prepare for their match against Bogue Chitto (Bogue Chitto, MS). The Bobcats go into the 2A Region 7 match with a 2-0 record. In their last match, Bogue Chitto gained a win over Wesson (Wesson, MS), 17-7, in a non-league match.
The Bulldogs (3-2) will now prepare for their match against Port Gibson (Port Gibson, MS). The Blue Waves go into the non-league match with a 1-4 record. In their last match, Port Gibson gained a win over South Pike (Magnolia, MS), 28-8, in a non-league match.
