The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Mater Dei Monarchs (Santa Ana, CA) and the visiting Saint Francis Lancers (Mountain View, CA), saw Mater Dei's volleyball squad nip Saint Francis by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Mater Dei upgrades its record to 8-4 on the year. The Monarchs host Beckman (Irvine, CA) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Wednesday, March 8. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 7-3. Beckman lost 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Corona del Mar (Newport Beach, CA)

The Lancers now own a 4-5 record. They play next when they host Serra for a WCAL bout on Tuesday, March 7. Saint Francis will play a Padres squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Balboa (San Francisco, CA). The Padres record now stands at 5-7.
