St. Monica Mariners (Santa Monica, CA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Arleta Mustangs (Arleta, CA), 2-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Mariners now own a 4-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Saint Joseph for a Camino Real challenge on Tuesday, March 7. St. Monica will battle a Jesters squad coming off a 14-0 non-league loss to Capistrano Valley (Mission Viejo, CA). The Jesters record now stands at 3-5.

With the loss, Arleta falls to 4-2 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Fairfax (Los Angeles, CA) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Fairfax lost 18-15 in their recent non-league challenge against Bernstein (Hollywood, CA)
