Carthage Bulldogs (Carthage, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Malakoff Tigers (Malakoff, TX), 3-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 10-5 record. They take the field next when they host Hudson for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 7. Carthage will battle a Hornets squad coming off a 5-3 non-league win over Monahans (Monahans, TX). The Hornets record now stands at 5-0.

With the loss, Malakoff falls to 8-4 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Hughes Springs (Hughes Springs, TX) to battle the Mustangs in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 7-3. Hughes Springs lost 4-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Mabank (Mabank, TX)
