Leander Lions (Leander, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Clemens Buffaloes (Schertz, TX), 7-4 in a non-league challenge.

The Lions now sport a 10-6 record. They take the field next when they travel to Harlingen for a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 4. Leander will face a Cardinals squad coming off a 6-3 non-league win over Southwest Legacy (Von Ormy, TX). The Cardinals record now stands at 9-6.

With the loss, Clemens falls to 11-4 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to San Marcos (San Marcos, TX) to face the Rattlers in a 6A Region IV District 27 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. The Rattlers enter the challenge with a record of 3-9. San Marcos lost 6-3 in their recent non-league challenge against Carroll (Corpus Christi, TX)
