Gregory-Portland Wildcats (Portland, TX) fans exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Comfort Bobcats/Deer (Comfort, TX), 3-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now sport a 11-8 record. They take the field next when they travel to Carroll for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 7. Gregory-Portland will face a Tigers squad coming off a 8-1 non-league loss to College Park (The Woodlands, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 10-9.

With the loss, Comfort falls to 8-10 on the campaign. The Bobcats/deer host Brady (Brady, TX) to face the Bulldogs in a 3A Region I District 5 challenge on Friday, March 10. The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a record of 3-6. Brady lost 11-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Bangs (Bangs, TX)
