Cypress Woods Wildcats (Cypress, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Kingwood Mustangs (Kingwood, TX), 4-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Wildcats now own a 11-9 record. They take the field next when they host Langham Creek for a 6A Region II District 16 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. Cypress Woods will face a Lobos squad coming off a 6-1 non-league win over Oak Ridge (Conroe, TX). The Lobos record now stands at 13-7.

With the loss, Kingwood falls to 16-4 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Beaumont United (Beaumont, TX) to face the Timberwolves in a 6A Region III District 21 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. The Timberwolves enter the challenge with a record of 0-5. Beaumont United lost 16-0 in their recent league challenge against North Shore (Houston, TX)
