East Central Hornets (San Antonio, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting MacArthur Brahmas (San Antonio, TX), 2-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Hornets now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Judson for a 6A Region IV District 27 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. East Central will face a Rockets squad coming off a 15-8 non-league win over Floresville (Floresville, TX). The Rockets record now stands at 10-5.

With the loss, MacArthur falls to 9-10 on the campaign. The Brahmas travel to Jefferson (San Antonio, TX) to face the Mustangs in a 5A Region IV District 27 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. The Mustangs enter the challenge with a record of 4-8. Jefferson lost 5-4 in their recent league challenge against Highlands (San Antonio, TX)
