The Newport Greyhounds crushed the visiting White County Central Bears baseball team by a tally of 21-0 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Greyhounds now hold a 2-3 record. They take the field next when they host Hoxie for a 3A Region 2 bout on Tuesday, March 5. Newport will face a Mustangs team coming off a 16-4 non-league loss to Sloan-Hendrix (Imboden, AR). The Mustangs record now stands at 0-1.

Next, the Bears face the South Side Hornet (Bee Branch, AR) in a 2A Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, March 5. White County Central will attempt to advance on its 2-2 season record. The Hornet enter the bout with a 2-3 record after their 3-2 non-league loss to Woodlawn (Rison, AR).
