In Monday's non-league game, the host Coronado Islanders baseball team scored a tight 7-6 victory over the Steele Canyon Cougars.

The Islanders (1-3) will now prepare for their game against Monte Vista (Spring Valley, CA). The Monarchs go into the non-league game with a 0-3 record. In their last game, Monte Vista was edged by Otay Ranch (Chula Vista, CA), 8-3, in a non-league game.
