Cape Fear Colts (Fayetteville, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Lee County Yellow Jackets (Sanford, NC), 4-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Colts now sport a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they host Lumberton for a United Eight 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 5. Cape Fear will face a Pirates squad coming off a 7-2 non-league loss to Scotland (Laurinburg, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 1-2.

With the loss, Lee County falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Yellow jackets host Union Pines (Cameron, NC) to face the Vikings in a Sandhills 3A/4A challenge on Tuesday, March 5. The Vikings enter the challenge with a record of 2-0. Union Pines won 7-6 in their recent non-league challenge against Cape Fear (Fayetteville, NC)
