In Monday's non-league contest, the Izard County Cougars (Brockwell, AR) softball team overwhelmed the visiting Highland Rebels (Hardy, AR), by a margin of 13-1.
With the triumph, Izard County moves its record to 1-0 on the year. The Cougars host Mt. Vernon-Enola (Mt. Vernon, AR) to play the Warhawks in a 2A Region 2 contest on Tuesday, March 5. The Warhawks come into the contest with a record of 0-0.
In their next game, the Rebels play the Batesville Pioneers (Batesville, AR) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, March 7. Highland will attempt to move on its 0-2 season record.
