In Tuesday's non-league game, the host West Johnston Wildcats baseball team scored a close 9-7 victory over the Clayton Comets.
The Wildcats (4-0) will now prepare for their game against Midway (Dunn, NC). The Raiders enter the non-league game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Midway by Triton (Erwin, NC), 7-5, in a non-league game.
Next, the Comets face the Southern School of Energy and Sustainability Spartans (Durham, NC) in a non-league game, on Thursday, March 6. Clayton will attempt to improve on its 1-3 season record. The Spartans enter the game with a 0-3 record after their 21-1 non-league loss to Riverside-Durham (Durham, NC).
