Croatan Cougars (Newport, NC) supporters left the game thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Jacksonville Cardinals (Jacksonville, NC), 8-1 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Croatan improves its record to 2-1 on the year. The Cougars travel to Havelock (Havelock, NC) to play the Rams in a non-league game on Tuesday, March 11. The Rams enter the game with a record of 0-4.

The Cardinals now hold a 0-4 record. They play next when they travel to Swansboro for a non-league game on Friday, March 7. Jacksonville will play a Pirates squad coming off a 10-7 non-league win over Ashley (Wilmington, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 3-2.
