The Melissa Cardinals softball team scored 4 runs and limited the host Burleson Elks to 0 in the Cardinals non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Melissa moves its record to 10-2 on the year. The Cardinals host Anna (Anna, TX) to clash with the Coyotes in a 4A Region II District 9 game on Monday, March 7. The Coyotes come into the game with a record of 3-1. Anna won 10-7 in their recent non-league game against Rivercrest (Bogata, TX)

In their next game, the Elks clash with the Mansfield Timberview Wolves (Arlington, TX) in a 5A Region I District 8 game, on Tuesday, March 8. Burleson will attempt to move on its 6-1 season record.
