Wilson Hall Barons (Sumter, SC) backers exited the stadium thrilled Saturday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Gilbert Indians (Gilbert, SC), 13-9 in a non-league challenge.

The Barons now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hammond for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 25.

With the loss, Gilbert falls to 4-1 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Darlington (Darlington, SC) to battle the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Saturday, March 5. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 0-1. Darlington lost 9-2 in their recent non-league match against Pee Dee Academy (Mullins, SC)
