The Lewisburg Patriots (Olive Branch, MS) softball nipped the host Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS), 4-3 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Patriots (7-0) will now prepare for their bout against Olive Branch (Olive Branch, MS). The Conquistadors go into the 6A Region 1 bout with a 1-3 record. In their last bout, Olive Branch was edged by Senatobia (Senatobia, MS), 10-6, in a non-league bout.

The Cougars now possess a 7-1 record. They play next when they travel to Germantown for a non-league bout on Tuesday, March 8. Northwest Rankin will confront a Mavericks squad coming off a 4-3 non-league loss to Kosciusko (Kosciusko, MS). The Mavericks record now stands at 3-3.
