The Hawkins Hawks got by the visiting Alba-Golden Panthers softball squad by a count of 3-2 in Tuesday's non-league battle.

The Hawks (5-2) will now prepare for their battle against New Summerfield (New Summerfield, TX). The Hornets go into the 1A Region III District 19 battle with a 1-4 record. In their last battle, New Summerfield was edged by Overton (Overton, TX), 6-0, in a league battle.

The Panthers now sport a 9-3 record. They play next when they host Como-Pickton for a 2A Region III District 17 battle on Tuesday, March 19.
