The Conway Wampus Cats baseball team scored 8 runs and held the visiting Maumelle Hornets to 2 in the Wampus Cats non-league win on Wednesday.
The Wampus Cats now hold a 4-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Central for a 6A Central outing on Thursday, March 6.
The Hornets (0-2) will now prepare for their outing against Russellville (Russellville, AR). The Cyclones come into the non-league outing with a 2-1 record. In their last outing, Russellville tipped Sylvan Hills (Sherwood, AR), 12-3, in a non-league test.
