George County Rebels (Lucedale, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Poplarville Hornets (Poplarville, MS), 11-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Rebels now own a 8-1 record. They take the field next when they host Wayne County for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 7. George County will face a War Eagles squad coming off a 8-5 non-league loss to Mize (Mize, MS). The War Eagles record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Poplarville falls to 1-5 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to Purvis (Purvis, MS) to face the Tornadoes in a 4A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, March 9. The Tornadoes come into the game with a record of 7-1. Purvis won 14-4 in their recent league game against Lawrence County (Monticello, MS)
