Perry Central Bulldogs (New Augusta, MS) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the host Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS), 24-1 in a non-league challenge.

The Bulldogs now own a 4-5 record. They take the field next when they host Our Lady Academy for a 3A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, March 7. Perry Central will face a Crescents squad coming off a 15-5 non-league loss to Ben's Ford Christian (Bogalusa, LA). The Crescents record now stands at 0-4.

With the loss, Laurel falls to 0-2 on the campaign. The Golden tornadoes host Meridian (Meridian, MS) to face the Wildcats in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, March 7. The Wildcats enter the challenge with a record of 4-4. Meridian lost 11-1 in their recent league challenge against Brandon (Brandon, MS)
