Canyon Springs Pioneers (North Las Vegas, NV) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Democracy Prep Agassi Campus Blue Knights (Las Vegas, NV), 23-17 in a non-league challenge.

The Pioneers now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host Mater Academy East Las Vegas for a non-league challenge on Friday, March 8. Canyon Springs will battle a Knights squad coming off a 25-3 non-league loss to Pahrump Valley (Pahrump, NV). The Knights record now stands at 0-2.

With the loss, Democracy Prep Agassi Campus moves to 0-2 on the season. The Blue knights travel to Boulder City (Boulder City, NV) to meet the Eagles in a non-league match on Friday, March 8. The Eagles go into the match with a record of 3-5. Boulder City won 17-0 in their recent non-league match against Del Sol (Las Vegas, NV)
