Poteet Pirates (Mesquite, TX) boosters exited the stadium in high spirits Thursday as they saw their baseball team gain a win over the visiting DeSoto Eagles (DeSoto, TX), 8-4 in a non-league battle.

The Pirates (3-7) will now prepare for their battle against Lancaster (Lancaster, TX). The Tigers enter the non-league battle with a 5-2 record. In their last battle, Lancaster held off Ranchview (Irving, TX), 10-1, in a non-league battle.

Next, the Eagles face the Adamson Leopards (Dallas, TX) in a non-league battle, on Friday, March 7. DeSoto will attempt to upgrade on its 1-3 season record. The Leopards enter the battle with a 3-5 record after their 3-1 non-league win over North Mesquite (Mesquite, TX).
