In Thursday's non-league test, the Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC) softball squad overwhelmed the visiting Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC), by a tally of 14-1.

Next, the Ironmen clash with the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A test, on Tuesday, March 11. Cherryville will attempt to advance on its 2-2 season record. The Golden Lions go into the test with a 0-3 record after their 15-5 league loss to Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC).

The Wolverines (4-2) will now prepare for their test against R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC). The Hilltoppers go into the Mountain Foothills Seven 1A/2A test with a 2-1 record. In their last test, R-S Central was routed by North Buncombe (Weaverville, NC), 1-0, in a non-league test.
